Home Staging in Smiley Park, Redlands

The Smiley Park Historic District sits just south of downtown Redlands, roughly between Brookside Avenue, Cajon Street, Cypress Avenue and Buena Vista Street. It is centered on Smiley Park, home to the A.K. Smiley Public Library, the Redlands Bowl and the Lincoln Memorial Shrine. The neighborhood is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is also one of the City of Redlands' local Historic and Scenic Districts.

Building here began in 1887. The earliest homes are Victorians, from larger Queen Anne houses to smaller cottages, followed by Classical Revival homes around 1900 and Craftsman designs after 1908. Lots are narrow with consistent setbacks, landscaped front yards and detached garages, some still reached by original ribbon driveways.

That history shapes how we stage. Period rooms are often smaller and more defined than in newer homes, so we pick furniture scaled to fit, set formal dining rooms as dining rooms, and keep décor quiet so the woodwork, windows and built-ins are what buyers notice. Front porches get attention too, since they are the first thing in the listing photos.
